While Oconee Regional faces a variety of serious challenges, we are just now embarking on a path to ensure our hospital thrives now and in the future. We are committed to continuing to provide the same excellent care our friends and neighbors need and deserve.

We are at a critical point in our journey, and we want to build our future alongside our dedicated physicians and employees, and all of the people we serve.

While we believe the steps we are taking today are putting us on the right path, there is still a lot of work ahead. It will take all of us, working together, to ensure that Oconee Regional continues to remain the vital community asset it is today. We look forward to moving forward with you.

1. WE HAVE A NUMBER OF SIGNIFICANT EFFORTS UNDERWAY TO MOVE FORWARD TOGETHER.
We have recently undergone a change in leadership, offering a new opportunity for fresh ideas and a new direction for the hospital.

We are currently engaged in the search for interim leadership and will undergo a thorough and thoughtful process for a long-term CEO.

The Board is committed to ensuring the best possible path forward for Oconee Regional.

2. WE’RE ALSO PLANNING TO ENGAGE OUR EMPLOYEES, PHYSICIANS AND THE COMMUNITY IN A VARIETY OF WAYS, INCLUDING:
Reinvigorating our Physician Strategic Advisory Council and Employee Advisory Council.

Launching a new informational website specifically dedicated to sharing details about our vision for the future and our partnership with Navicent Health.

Engaging our employees and physicians in a variety of ways, including regular updates, employee town halls and more.

Offering opportunities for our community to provide input and ask questions.

3. IMPORTANTLY, WE ARE ALSO ENTERING A TRUE STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS, WHICH:
Will include the planning for a community needs assessment to identify both short- and long-term clinical program opportunities and health needs in our area.

Will identify any current physician shortages, while developing a plan to retain and recruit needed physicians and specialists.

Will explore a variety of service enhancements, such as continuing medical education for our physicians and improvements to our facilities.

Will include a comprehensive financial plan based upon a likely forecast of patient volumes, reimbursements and operating expenses.

Will be revised each year to adapt to current needs.
